It just recently hit me that there are TWO kinds of emos... well, I guess three if you count Scene. There's Subtle and Hardcore.
I like Subtle emos.
They are the ones that have emo hair. Maybe a piercing or two. But they aren't always "emo."
Hardcore emo... has the hair, eyeliner, multiple piercings.
Scene can be hardcore, but they have a more bubbly personality and like bright and many different colors.

Scene Girls & Boy:

And I just love this pic. I think of him as being Subtle.

Although the Underoath shirt could give off a hardcore vibe of sorts. And a bandana would REALLY give the assumption of hardcoreness.
Just for the record, I am not a fan of Monroe piercings. I think they are... ugh. I mean, WHAT is the point of a Monroe or anti-brow? I mean, really?!
And I don't like it when the "coon stripes" get abused like in that one scene girl pic. Then it's just ugly. I really like the other girl's pic though (the one with brown eyes and hair)
AND there is a difference between emo and goth. It's not uncommon for a goth to be called emo. Emo is far more popular and publicized than goth. People usually think of goth as wearing all black, chains, spikes, and maybe corsets and lace and the like. Well, not all do. Goth's have a dark outlook on life, and because of this, they are often called emo. I think that's the main reason they get mixed up.
