Don't answer that.
But, I would have to say staying in a single room with a hundred others while you have fun and wait until midnight so that you can FINALLY get the Harry Potter book you have been DYING for.
Oh. Yeah.
In a way it really sucks that there's no more. There's no more of that waiting in a cramped bookstore with a ton of people wearing HP costumes. Guess we're gonna have to stick waiting for the movies. *sigh*
Well, hopefully, (and by hopefully, I mean NEVER) I won't forget waiting in that bookstore for the final book. Pure awesomeness. Why, you may ask? Prepare to sit back, relax, and read the following EXTREMELY LONG blog. Proceed at your own risk... But of course, if you care and/or have nothing better/else to do, then you WILL read this in it's entirety... (so don't think that's spelled right)
ANYWAY, you know how Harry Potter came out at midnight? Well, my parents and I went to Borders for the "party" cuz we seriously reserved a book in February. We did it as soon as we knew we could. So you may be asking, or once I say it you'll realize-- why am I not reading it NOW, and instead writing to you? It's got to be pretty damn good. And it is. Trust me.
We were in line to get our wristbands which indicate we've reserved a book and that has our number on it. A noticed a person in line 2 people ahead of us dressed in Harry threads. "Mr. Rainey?" He was one of my 8th grade teachers, and he ROCKS! "Hi, Megan." and he gave me a hug. So I was talking to him when I saw two people walk through the aisle of bookshelves not too far away at all.
Guess who it was?
TYLER! And Matt Bullene, but that's beside the point.
So even though my face started getting red, I still tried to talk to Mr. Rainey and ignored the boys' presence for now, but then they walked over to him and said "Hey, Mr. Rainey" Then when they walked away, Tyler gave me a peace sign/wave as I waved. My face took a long time to cool down. Mr. Rainey asked me who the boys were, and when I told him he said that he can't recognize boys like he can recognize girls, cause girls don't change.Anyway, once I finally got my face cooled down, they came by AGAIN to talk to Rainey (the line was moving slowly).
Once I FINALLY got a wristband, I headed for the music section, because I mean, why not? The place was packed, except for book "aisles" and such. It was really warm. Eventually, THEY walked in the music aisle I was in, and I of course tried to ignored them as my face burned... Then something fell. I looked over when Tyler, who was laughing, said, "Nice one". Matt had caused the glass... thing... wallish... so that the CDs won't fall every time someone is shuffling them... - to fall. I laughed and Tyler saw me looking at them. I decided to pluck up the courage because he wasn't going to talk to me first... well that was an assumption, but I was "ignoring" them for at least 5 mintues... it was probably one but whatever, I couldn't take the pressure anymore!
So I walked over, face red, palms sweating. I waved and said 'hi', and got the same from Tyler and a wave from Matt. By the way, Tyler cut his hair, but it covers his ears still (I think), and much of his face. His hair was wet, I noticed. It became clear later when he left to put water on his head because he said it was really warm and he's claustrophobic, or that's what he came to in conclusion. Did that make sense?
Anyway, Tyler is very energetic... really. He's quirky. They were doing raffles and the lady we came to know and love on the P.A. said for the winner to make noise. Tyler and Matt would make noise before she even read the number. It was very intriguing (my parents were wondering who was doing that). Tyler said that he wanted to yell "Santa!" but he never did. There was one raffle where the lady said, "I have in my hand a red paper," to which Tyler echoed my thoughts with "No way!"
He liked the Gryffindor scarf I had around my waist. His favorite color is green. He loves Led Zeppelin, Metallica, and he had a System of a Down wristband on. He likes to say hi to random people and wait for them to say hi back. He hates rap...
He now knows my favorite color is silver, my fav band is Evanescence, and that I love Kill Hannah and Sick Puppies. He said it was weird, because his sister's name in Hannah.
There was this point... it was weird. We were standing, still, and Tyler touched Matt on the shoulder, which Matt didn't like. "He doesn't like it when I touch his shoulder when he has a sunburn." then... he touched MY shoulder, like a demonstration.
Wait.
He touched me...
Um... it wasn't long before we sat down on the floor in this aisle. Well, they sat down first. I was listening to the lady... then a balloon was hitting my leg followed by Tyler saying "Sit down!" Later, when I said he kept hitting me, he apologized (I think) and said that I could hit him back anytime. I said to that "I'll keep that in mind for future reference." Oh! I forgot to mention his balloon. It was purple. He said that he saw it floating and he was tall enough to jump and grab it. We had a bit of a height discussion. He's 5' 10", with me at a puny 5 foot. There was a folded piece of paper inside. He really wanted to read what it said, but to do so, he'd have to say goodbye to Balloon... I told him he should pop it in a crowd, to scare people. He laughed, "A bomb in the bookstore. That's horrible" but he still laughed.
Matt kept on saying somewhat... stupid questions... ish... "So have you read all the books?" I said simply, "Duh," he pointed at Tyler, "He hasn't." "I just haven't read the 6th one, is all." Ummm... then there was "Are you excited for this book?" "Duh," I said as Tyler laughed, "I wouldn't be here if I wasn't." He laughed when I said "duh"... Yeah...
OH!!! Tyler and Matt both love Invader Zim as much as I do! I was so happy about that. They actually love the Doom Song, and quoted a bit off of it. Tyler said it was almost as good as Spongebob... I gave him a glare and he thought about it, saying that he does watch Invader Zim more...
After a while we were joined by Mr. Rainey, and we all talked and stuff. It was really fun. Tyler and Matt laid off on leaving. Matt's mom got the book (they had a pretty long line going), and it took a while, before they had to leave. I waved and said bye. Then... I really wanted to ask him for his phone number, or ask if he wanted mine, but 1: right in front of Mr. Rainey, and 2: I didn't get to practice my speech. EVEN if my speeches NEVER go as I want. Tyler said bye again to me, so he got another from me...
I was on cloud nine... well, not really, but close enough. I haven't been able to focus on the book much because my mind keeps wandering to you-know-who. And I don't feel much like reading... but then I think... Hello? I've been waiting for this book forever. THE most anticipated book ever in my list. Everything I ever wanted to know is in that book. All the questions I ever wanted answered.
I could seriously go into so much more detail and tell just about every single thing we talked about (like Texas), but I feel like I've wasted enough of your time already. ^_^
