When Carlton, Renee, and Austin were here, we went to Powell's Book City in Portland. There, I bought a book that caught my eye... very decent sized book (307 pages in paperback). I read the back, and it sounded interesting. I bought it... hell, it was only $3! It sucked me in, so I read it since Snakecharm was losing my interest (oh, and I'm writing this cuz 1. I have nothing better to do at the moment 2. This book is really good.... I think that's it).


Not all people would like this, just because I do. This takes place in present day New York (I think... it's been awhile since I read it. Not the city... somewhere in the state). The main character, Claire, it's a cheerleader-- popluar, yet she's the really nice type of them. The thing is... she has lukemia, so people act weird around her and such. A new kid, Lani Garver, comes to school, and the people at the "popular" table make fun of them. Staring at them, trying to figure out if they're a boy or a girl.
By the way, that wasn't from the back of the book... THIS is the back: Hackett Island has never seen anyone quite like Lani Garver. Everything about this new kid is a mystery: Where does Lani comes from? How old is Lani? And-- most disturbing of all-- is Lani a boy or a girl? Claire McKenzie isn't up to tormenting Lani like the rest of the entire school elite. Instead, she befriends the intriguing outcast. But within days of Lani's arrival, tragedy strikes and Claire must deal with shattered friendships and personal demons-- and the possiblity that angels walk the earth.


This book is a masterpiece. And don't get fooled by the angel part... it's not like the glowing people with wings type of thing... Ah, I'm not gonna say anymore. This book is supposed to be ages 14 and up, mainly cuz of language, and such. Like I said, not everyone is going to like this, like people who are REALLY anti-gore. This is basically your basic today teenage life (no sex, perverts). Oh, and I got my ability to not be able to explain things well from my dad, mostly, so sorry I can't explain things well... and I repeat things. This book shows how people change, that people DO change. How the person changing is first scared by it until they meet someone who says it's alright (like how Skyler helped me....DAMNIT!! Where's Micky when I need him?! (I'll get to him later)). This book made me CRY! Oh, and this is one of the books where they don't tell you EVERYTHING. It makes you think, it keeps some questions unanswered, so that you can continue to ponder after you read it. Of course, if you can't stand being confused, stay away from book.

I met one of the sweetest people alive. Of course, some people really don't care about him, or don't want to listen to him or anything. His name is Miguel, but he said I can call him Micky. He somehow found me on Myspace, and we instantly connected. He said that we were alot alike, and I was so SURPRISED to find out that he was right. We like much of the same things, hate much of the same things.... it's scary. Micky lives 5 minutes away from the US border in Mexico, like south of Arizona or New Mexico, or something. He is actually a really sweet guy. He pretty much fell in love with me.... Mind you, we've been through similar situations. It wasn't until he helped me get over Skyler that I started to like him back. Well, I'm not completely over Sky, but Micky helped show me some things.... I just needed someone to think about in place of Sky... Micky is currently it. Cara and Brittni know that recently I've been constantly talking about Micky... the white mexican guy who lives in Mexico, learned English from just literature, and has to deal with people speaking Spanglish (actual language... believe me, it's ugly). He's 17 now, and he's given me so much in just a week. I've seriously never met anyone sweeter than him. He loves music, computers, games, cartoons, trench coats (trench coats are cool! And he actually bought one), he likes Underworld (I watched that movie 5 times in 2 days... I'm glad after getting sleep I haven't been thinking Underworld anymore... I mean, I was speaking, thinking, playing music in my head, I was reciting lines, everything.... oh, and I scared my mom cuz it's rated R, and it's about vampyres and werewolves (Lycans) *heh* my dad liked it to. There's this part in the movie, where the first time it kinda made me lose my appetite. I said to my dad "You're gonna like this part..." seconds later... "Cool!" "Told you." people who have seen it should know what part I'm talking about). He also likes rain, hates sun... I'm currently picturing him as the character named Nathaniel in Underworld... white, trench coat, dark hair... and the fangs... ah, the beautiful fangs.... er... I was talking about Nathaniel. I believe he's the one that first fought Raze in the subway, right? Or is Nathaniel the bladish guy that had the camera? Cuz I thought that guy died from the UV bullets... and Selene said that Nathaniel could still be out there..... OH WELL!!! Most of you people haven't even watched it, and have NO clue what I'm talking about, right? Ok... where was I? Damn me and my rambling. Well, that's all I want to say today, can't think of much else.



READ "What Happened To Lani Garver" AND WATCH Underworld (I DARE you to watch it 5 times in 2 days... and I actually watch and listen to it, and watch the director/writer comentary once... that's what I did, and tell me you aren't thinking differently... 1st day watched it 3 times, 2 times the 2nd day.
